Introduction

The evolution of anesthesiology toward the concept of perioperative medicine has demanded greater professional involvement in critical patient management, especially in surgical patients, but also in the case of patients with medical pathology. This Postgraduate Diploma is designed to facilitate updating knowledge and work methodologies in critical patient units.

Keeping up to date on anesthesia procedures in critical care is key to providing better patient care.

New scenarios in anesthesia procedures motivate us to propose new training programs that meet the real needs of experienced professionals so that they can incorporate advances in anesthesia in critically ill patients into their medical practice”

This Obstetric Anesthesia Diploma

Addresses the advances in clinical practice in the last decade, including major clinical syndromes in critical care, as well as new developments in neurological and hemodynamic monitoring procedures, new ventilation, and the aim of Obstetric Anesthesiology Medicine is to provide pain relief; it could be short-term or long- term. This is done through various methods, and one of them is Anesthesia. It induces temporary loss of sensation to facilitate both minor and major medical procedures. Anesthesiologists are required to demonstrate skill and precision, and therefore, play a major role in anesthetizing a patient before any surgical procedure.

e-Learning Obstetric Anesthesia (e-OA) is a joint initiative undertaken by the Royal College of Anesthetists and e-Learning for Healthcare, intended primarily to provide access to the knowledge base that is required to support specialist training in Anesthesia. e-OA delivers the knowledge and key concepts that underpin the anesthetic curriculum and help trainees prepare for the EXAM-PRO.

The key components that Obstetric Anaesthesia e-OA offers are:

  • Over 450 knowledge-based eLearning sessions covering the first two years of the curriculum
  • A selection of MCQ-based revision tutorials covering commonly examined topics
  • Formative assessments with feedback (e-assessments) that will introduce trainees to the Primary MSERM (Basic Science Content) and Final EXAM-PRO (Clinical Content)
  • Articles and associated assessments (e-OA) to support general and core topic training and development
  • We hope you enjoy using this new and exciting learning resource.

The complexity of Critical Care Medicine translates into great variability in the medical and surgical management of critically ill patients. For this reason, there is an interest and a need to increase knowledge, analysis, and intervention in the field of Critical Care Medicine, making scientific evidence the main pillar of clinical practice.

This program aims to update the knowledge and methods used in critical care units, and is intended for specialists who are interested in deepening their medical knowledge in order to contribute quality and safety to improving patient health.
This Obstetric Anesthesia Diploma in Anesthesia and Critical Care is the most complete and up-to-date scientific program on the market. The most important features of the program include:

Clinical cases presented by specialists in anesthesiology and other areas.
The graphic, schematic, and eminently practical contents with which they are created provide scientific and practical information on the disciplines that are essential for professional practice.

Objectives

The main objective is to facilitate the incorporation of advances in anesthesia procedures in critically ill patients, so that specialists can update their knowledge in a practical way, using the latest educational technology and adapting the educational process to their real needs.
